European Oak
Quercus robur/Quercus Petraea
Colour light tan to deep brown with a silver-grey figure on quarter sawn. The grain is usually straight with a mild texture. It works and finishes well. Uses include high-class Interior and exterior joinery, furniture, panelling, doors and flooring. An increasingly popular timber.

Iroko
Chlorophora Excelsahave
Colour varies from light yellow to dark brown. Can be interlocked or cross-grained with a medium to moderately coarse texture. It is a hard wearing timber that is resistant to decay. Used for joinery, boat building, conservatories, flooring, garden furniture and kitchen/laboratory tops. A good alternative to Teak

Southern Yellow Pine
Pinus Palutris & Pinus Elliotti
The heartwood is yellowish-brown to reddish-brown, generally resinous, which distinguishes itself from the light-coloured sapwood. Southern Yellow Pine is typically harder and heavier than their commercial species of pine and is almost identical in strength properties with Douglas Fir. Uses include internal joinery, stairs, furniture, flooring and boat building.

Utile
Entandrophragma
Colour medium to dark reddish-brown. Medium texture with broadly interlocked grain. Similar to Sapele however, the striped figure is less marked due to its growth characteristics. A class one hardwood, its uses include high-quality joinery, furniture, cabinetwork, doors, window, conservatories and boat building.
